Privacy policy

This policy describes what Retracio collects when you visit the site, and what the Retracio desktop app sends off your machine when you use it.

What this site collects

The site runs no analytics. It sets no tracking scripts or measurement cookies.

The waitlist form is the only place where the site asks you for data. It asks for your work email, the test framework you use, and the size of your team. When you submit the form, the entry is sent as an email to hello@retracio.com. That email also carries the IP address and browser user-agent string of the request, attached to filter automated submissions. The entry is used to tell you when a build is ready and to answer your questions, and it is neither sold nor passed to other companies for marketing.

The hosting provider that serves the site may keep technical request logs, such as the requested URL, time, and IP address, to operate the service and defend it against abuse. Retracio does not use those logs to identify visitors.

What the desktop app sends and keeps

Retracio runs on your machine as a desktop app. Recording a manual test run, scanning your repository, and writing the generated files happen locally. Generating the test calls an LLM provider over the network.

What leaves your machine: the recorded steps, trimmed DOM snapshots of the pages under test, and excerpts of your repository's test conventions, meaning page objects, fixtures, and naming. These go to the LLM provider so that it can generate the test.

What stays on your machine: your source code, the generated tests, browser sessions and cookies, screenshots and recordings, and your credentials.

The app reads your local checkout only. It never clones the repository and never uploads it. Generated tests are written as files into the folder you choose, and committing them stays with you.

Retracio operates no server that receives your recordings, your code, or your generated tests. The app talks to the LLM provider directly, using an API key that belongs to you.

Third parties

The LLM provider is Anthropic. The app sends the generation request to Anthropic through your own API key, so the request is covered by the agreement between you and Anthropic, whose own terms and privacy documents describe how it handles that data.

An email service provider delivers the form entry to the mailbox named above. It processes the entry only to deliver the message.

A hosting provider serves the site and may keep the technical logs described earlier.

Your rights and contact

You can ask what data Retracio holds about you, request a copy, ask for a correction, or ask for deletion. Deleting your form entry removes you from the release message list.

Changes to this policy

Retracio may update this policy when the site, the app, or the providers involved change. The current version is the one published at this address, and the date below shows when it was last revised. A change in what the app sends off your machine is also reflected in the security section of the home page.
